This policy explains what information My First Steps collects through its app and this website, what we use it for, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and phone number.
• Profile and CV (candidates) — the details you add to your profile and the CV you upload.
• Company details (employers) — your company name and the information you provide about it.
• Payments — whether a subscription was paid for and how much. Card details are handled by our payment provider, Paymob; we never see or store them.
• Device information — the type of device, its operating system version, and an app-instance identifier.

How we use it

To run the service: to create your account, show candidate profiles to employers, process subscriptions, and send you notifications. We also use a small amount of information to measure whether our advertising works, as described below.

Advertising measurement

On this website, with your permission only, we use cookies and similar technology from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Snapchat. They tell us how many people visit and tap through to the App Store or Google Play. Nothing from these companies loads unless you press Accept on the cookie banner, and you can decline.

In the app, when you create an account, upload your first CV, unlock a candidate's CV, or buy a subscription, we tell Meta, TikTok and Snapchat that the action happened, so we can see which of our ads led to it. What we share for this is limited to:

• your email address and phone number, hashed (converted into a code that cannot be reversed into the original);
• an internal account number, also hashed;
• the value of a purchase, if there was one;
• your IP address and basic device information.

We never share your CV, your profile, your messages, or your name for advertising. On iPhone, we respect the choice you make when the app asks whether it may track you.

Your choices

• Website cookies — press Decline on the banner, or clear this site's cookies to be asked again.
• Advertising measurement from the app — use the unsubscribe link in any of our marketing emails, or email us. We stop sharing your activity with advertising platforms from then on.
• Deleting your account — you can delete your account from the app's settings.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. The IP address and device details used for advertising measurement are deleted as soon as they have been sent.
